Añashuayco Quarries

Arequipa

It is a stream that begins in the foothills of Chachani and crossing the road and railway Yura inland at a point near the airport, about 10 km from Arequipa. This quarry has been carved by water erosion, exposing a large vein of white volcanic rock called trachyte scientifically. Añashuayco quarries provide “sillar” currently used in the construction industry and souvenirs.
