Toro Muerto Petrogliphs

Arequipa

It is a fabulous set of petroglyphs, located in the district of Uraca, about 7 km from Corire in Majes, lay scattered around 5,000 large blocks of volcanic rock, whose origin, according to the French petrologist Piacet, is due to violent explosive eruptions of the Coropuna Chachani, occurred during the Tertiary.
Many of these blocks, located in an area of ​​3,876 m. long by 251 m. wide, can be seen zoomorphic, as mammals, birds, amphibians, fish and reptiles, many of them anthropomorphic, dancers and mythical characters, figures fitomorfas, as trees, flowers, etc.., geometric, such as points, straight lines, zig-zags, frets, circles, etc.., and a myriad of other figures varied.
