Arequipa

Monastery of Santa Teresa.- Also known as Monasterio del Carmen. They broke ground in 1700, but was only completed in 1710. The monastery remains almost intact colonial architecture. Inside the temple stands a beautiful stone baptismal font, and under the choir there is a relief of foliage, represented leaves, fruit and an angel holding the shield of Carmel.
