Arrive at the Capital of Biodiversity of Peru. Puerto Maldonado. Reception at the airport. Our tour begins with a bus city tour. Then we go to the Port Authority, to embark on boat on the Madre de Dios River. During the trip we will dive in a natural environment where we will observe the capybara, caimans, turtles, herons, cormorants and other animal species.
Arrival to EcoamazonÃa Lodge, an exquisite welcome drink, settle into our bungalows and have lunch.
By the afternoon, accompanied by our specialized guide, visit the first and only place in the heart of the Madre de Dios River: Monkeys Island, 5 minutes away from the lodge. During the walk we will observe extraordinary scenery and exuberant flora that are the home to a variety of species of monkeys in their natural habitat, such as maquisapas, capuchins, lion monkeys, frailecillos, cotos, and other species like the coati, sloths, among others, and a variety of birds. We end our visit of the island while enjoying the sunset, being the most amazing sunset in the jungle. Then return to the lodge to end the day with a pleasant dinner.
Wake up to the beautiful bird songs. After breakfast, we will start our journey with a walk to the depths of the forest, through special paths with britches to cross the streams. During the journey we will observe the caimans cave. Continuing arrive at majestic LAKE APU VICTOR, with crystal clear water, surrounded by immense swamps and gigantic trees. Later we will climb up our AMAZON OBSERVATORY, where we will be enjoying the spectacular panorama of the lake, watching parrots, macaws, toucans, camungo, shanshos, herons and other animals like caimans, turtles and if lucky enough we could observe one of the most spectacular animals of the jungle, giant otter. After several hours, return to the lodge. Lunch in the afternoon.
GAMITANA RIVER. On this tour you need to wear a hat, sunscreen, bathing suit so you can swim, you can also fish in the river. Return to the lodge and dinner.
Breakfast. Transfer to the Puerto Maldonado airport.
