Pick up from hotel, and head to the Sacred Valley stopping at the point of the passage of Malaga, at 4,500 meters (14,850 feet). Here our guide will give us a breafing about safety conditions for our path. We will start the descent on bicycles (optional) to the jungle. In the afternoon we will arrive to the town of Santa Maria (1,500 masl or 4,950 feet). Accommodation at the hotel. Dinner and rest.
We will star our second day early in the morning around 6:00 a.m. After breakfast, we will start our hike by the river side, where we will see lots of fruit trees and coca plantations, coffee and cocoa crops, which will accompany us all the way.
After 2 hours of walking, we will arrive to the inca trail which is about 2 km. After the explanations of our guide, we will begin our trek down the mountain to our lunch place which is located also close to the river where we will be surrounded by lush trees, we can rest in hammocks. We will continue walking for about two hours towards Cocalmayo thermal waters - hotsprings, where we will take a very comforting bath before coming to Santa Teresa where we will stay.
After breakfast we will start our trek towards the Hydroelectric, we will walk through a narrow canyon with very pleasant weather, you can enjoy beautiful waterfalls and mountains covered with coarse vegetation.
Our lunch will be in the hydroelectric and then we will continue our journey through the train tracks where we will see lots of beautiful flowers and greenery. After 3 hours of walking we will reach the town of Aguas Calientes. Accommodation and dinner. Optional visit to Aguas Calientes thermal baths - optional-.
Early in the morning we will take the bus to take us to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, where we have a guided visit. In the afternoon return to Aguas Calientes, we will take our train back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 8pm.
